As soon as you decide to go ahead for surrogacy with us, we prepare a separate case file for you and maintain records in a professional manner. You selected egg donor, surrogate mother and their details are also kept in it.
Once you have selected your donor / decided for yourself as the donor, we will send you all legal contracts in a draft form. You can read them extensively and / or take an opinion from your lawyer and suggest if you would like to add any clause. Once the contracts are approved from your end, we will keep them ready for signing by all parties concerned.
The donor / female IP will be cycled as per your arrival plan in India and as per regular hormonal injections and monitoring by the IVF specialist, the date of egg pick up would be decided. On the day of egg pick up, the male IP will be required to be present at the IVF hospital also for sperm sample. With this sperm sample (or the sperm sample frozen with the clinic earlier) an IVF / ICSI (ICSI preferably as it has higher success rates) will be performed with the eggs.
On the day of egg pick up, the IVF specialist will inform the number of eggs received from the donor / female IP to you verbally. The transfer of embryos in the surrogate would be done on the 2 – 5th day of IVF. If the embryos are of very good quality and the IP’s want to keep it for till 4th – 5th day (blastocycst), the IVF specialist would do the transfer accordingly. Once the transfer is done in the surrogate, she will freeze the rest of the embryos and make a detailed report of the egg pick up with the number of eggs picked up, IVF / ICSI, embryos transferred in the gestational carrier, quality of embryos, images of embryos and number of embryos frozen for future cycle and handover the report to you. This report is called the IVF and Embryo Transfer Report.
2 weeks from the embryo transfer in the gestational carrier, the IVF specialist will call the surrogate mother will call her at her clinic and perform a Beta hcg test on her. This test result would confirm the positive pregnancy of the surrogate. If it is negative, we will consult you and perform another cycle of frozen embryos either on the same gestational carrier or a new one (as per clinical opinion of the IVF specialist) with three months of the first cycle.
One week from the beta hcg test (5 weeks), your surrogate mother will be called at the clinic once again and will undergo an ultrasound scan to detect the number of gestational sacs in her. An ultrasound report with the images will be emailed to you.
One week from the first ultrasound scan (6 weeks), she will undergo another ultrasound scan and the IVF specialist will fetal pole (your growing embryo) and heart beat of the baby. An ultrasound report with the images will be emailed to you.
Once the heart beat of the baby is detected your surrogate mother will visit the clinic every 4 – 6 weeks and undergo a medical test for her smooth and medically managed pregnancy. During the 9 months of continued pregnancy, her each and every medical report, ultrasound scans and tests will be emailed to you. This will keep you in loop of her health and growing pregnancy. Post 4 months of pregnancy, her pictures with growing belly too!
We will keep a close contact with you and keep you informed the expected date / week of baby delivery of the surrogate mother so that you can take leave from work and arrive for baby delivery a few days before her delivery. We will book you in a decent service apartment with a cook, a nanny and will escort you to the baby delivery hospital on the day of delivery.
Once the baby is born, he / she will be in your custody and you will be able to take with you in about 2 days from the delivery. We will initiate the process of taking the baby back and get you the baby birth certificate (with IP’s names on it) and assist you to apply for the baby passport, DNA test, exit visa from the FRRO etc. The entire process will take about 3 – 4 weeks for most countries.
