Your 2nd Visit To India
Your second visit to India will normally be to be present in the hospital during her birth and take the baby back to your country. Intended Parents might also be required to visit India during pregnancy if there is a guideline from your embassy in India saying so, like in case of Spanish embassy. You are also welcome to visit India on your own if you wish to be present during any one the ultrasound check up days of your surrogate mother.
Stay Duration:
The stay duration in India post baby delivery depends on various factors. If the baby’s health is fine after birth and she is ready to go back, then there is only paperwork to be completed. A team from Go Surrogacy will assist you to complete the paperwork. It should normally take you 3 – 4 weeks to take the baby back with an exception to the cases where legally some issue has to be sorted or for countries like UK where the UK embassy can take 2 – 6 months to issue the passport to the baby.
Accommodation to stay for longer time
We recognize that this time your stay will be longer and your family and your new family member will need more space and kitchen too. Before your visit we will send you a list of some service apartments near the delivery hospital and on your selection, book you in one. The service apartment will have minimum two rooms with a kitchen and service personnel for housekeeping etc. A cook and a nanny to take care of the baby can also be organized on your request.
Arriving for Baby Delivery
Post 32 – 34 weeks of pregnancy of your surrogate, you will be advised regularly on the ongoing health of your surrogate mother and the expected date of delivery of your child. You will be advised to come a few days prior to the delivery and be present in the hospital lounge during delivery. The baby post delivery will be brought in the neonatal ICU under the care of expert nurses and neonatologists and your care. If you cannot come on time, your baby will remain under the care of pediatricians and neonatologists in the hospital until you come.
Delivery Hospital
The delivery hospital will be carefully selected. The delivery of your baby will take place in secondary care or a tertiary care hospital under the care of a reputed Obstetrician and the IVF specialist. If you wish to choose a delivery hospital, you may choose one and inform us.
Normal Delivery or Can I request a C section?
All our surrogates are given trial of labor as they have had undergone deliveries earlier. However, the obstetrician takes this decision depending on the progress of the labor.
Birth Certificate
Post delivery of your baby, you will also fill the baby birth form with her name (as selected by you). This form will be sent by the hospital to the local municipal corporation which will issue you a birth certificate of the baby in 5 – 7 days time.
Can the Surrogate breast feed the baby?
No. Immediately after birth, the baby is handed over to the genetic parents, and if you are not present at that time, the baby is kept under the care of the neonatologist and the pediatricians until the genetic parents arrive. The surrogate is not even shown the baby.
